(110,909 posts)and none of them were stinkers. There's a growing Muslim population in this town, probably because they find the climate close to home, and I'll be happy to welcome Syrian refugees among them.
Love the guy with his tabby kitty.

(50,414 posts)I don't recall meeting any Syrians. But, I've met a lot of Iranians, a few Palestinians, an Egyptian, and was a friend with a Jordanian. All very nice people. As are most people.

One of the reasons all Illinois politicians are corrupt.

Even if it's only a smile or a friendly greeting.

(19,339 posts)Does his culture routinely use that gesture as a legitimate threat to literally cut someone's head off? I'm curious.

(101,154 posts)That site makes Alex Jones look sane and balanced. "DARPA rumored to be genetically modifying humans to create zombie super soldiers"???? "SIX huge asteroids ARE coming our way as doommongers insist world will end in TWO weeks"?

(4,238 posts)are in the same category as the Irving school officials and police who mistook a clock for a bomb.
Note: these refugees are fleeing Islamic terror. They've seen what ISIS is capable of and want no part of it. Are there bad seeds among the thousands seeking refuge? Yeah, most definitely. As there would be in any group of thousands. During the Mariel boatlift in the early 80s when over 200,000 Cubans made it to Florida, there were some really bad elements in there. But the VAST majority went on to become productive members of society, including a future Pulitzer Prize winner, a future Poet Laureate, and many, many business owners (small and large) that gave back to society. Stop with the fear-mongering.

(8,175 posts)I've seen that gesture used before, when beheading had nothing to do with it. It means stop filming. But these kids are Muslim, so what can we expect from many Americans who live in fear of Muslims?
from wiki:
Throat slash, made by moving one's index finger, thumb or entire hand, held straight and with palm down, horizontally across one's throat; the gesture imitates cutting a person's throat with a blade, indicating strong disapproval, extreme anger, or displeasure with others or with oneself;[11] alternatively, it can be a signal to stop broadcasting, i.e. "cut"
