Gov. Mark Dayton visited Columbia Heights High School on Friday in a show of solidarity with students outraged by a school board member's alleged online comments about Muslims.
The governor said school board member Grant Nichols should resign.
Minnesota Public Radio reported that students held school walkouts this week after Nichols allegedly wrote a Sept. 6 post on his Facebook page criticizing Muslims and calling their bathroom habits "unsanitary."
Nichols maintains that someone else used his cellphone to make the post.
During a special meeting on Tuesday, the Columbia Heights school board narrowly voted to allow Nichols to keep his seat..........................
