GOP congressman plans to boycott pope's speech over climate

Citing Pope Francis' support for action on climate change, Republican Rep. Paul Gosar says he is boycotting the pontiff's address to Congress.

In an op-ed published by Town Hall on Thursday, Gosar criticized the pope for warning about the threat of climate change in an encyclical published earlier this year. The pope will deliver an address to a joint session of Congress on Thursday

"If the Pope wants to devote his life to fighting climate change then he can do so in his personal time. But to promote questionable science as Catholic dogma is ridiculous," Gosar, a Catholic, said.

A Gosar spokesman said other Republicans have expressed interest in joining the boycott but would not name any of the members.

I would think that the electorate that put this asshole into power can understand that they've made a mistake?

Or is this a norm for this district?

It's only part of the Bible, the 'word of God' and the Pope is only the representative of God on Earth, right?

Gotta love these 'ala carte' christians.

3. I hope this starts a trend by Pubs to boycott the Pope

It would be hilarious to see Boner all weepy because a large number of Pubs decide to boycott da Pope.

Additionally expect full on RW pout rage after the Pope spanks all the Pubs for their greed, selfishness and very un christ like behavior in their HOUSE. It should be funny.

Because if it weighs more than a duck, it's a witch.of course you can Gods Will in that, right?

Questionable science, my ass. Makes more sense to assume that's what's questionable here is the Congressman's Faith...motherfucking mammon-worshiper that he is...

He may as well just go to Wall Street, and get down on his knees and 'give thanks' underneath that damned bronze bull.

(On Edit)
Yeah that whole 'because the Pope says so' argument is a little uncomfortable now that the shoes on the other foot, isn't it, you little bitches?

Spread the word of how friendly the United States citizens really are.

The Pope has more intelligence in his big toe than you have in your entire body. I praise the Pope and I'm not even Catholic. Most refreshing Pope in a long time.

Shame on you. Your mother should have taught you manners.

6. I hope for the sake of Francis' DU fan club that his address is not overly bigoted or anti choice

Most of DU's straight people have strongly endorsed his message in advance and most have said they agree with all he will say.
They are already touting a man who calls LGBT disordered and our rights the machinations of Satan. Later they will ask for my trust, my vote, my money and my time, so I hope for the Party's sake that Francis does not rage against minorities and women's rights as he is frequently known to do.
