Must read: Are you REALLY Pro-Life or just Pro-9months?

This is a great read and I hope it is shared everywhere.

https://medium.com/@tracischmidley/are-you-really-pro-life-ab5c5acbb293

"….I hated to be that woman — that mess of a mom whose kids are out of control. One lady down the line shrugged her shoulders at me to say, “Hey, I get it. We have all been there.” But the couple immediately behind me had a different perspective. The man looked at the woman and said in a voice much too loud, “Some people should stop having kids.” Judging from her facial expressions and audible sighing and huffing, I can reasonably guess that she agreed with him.

Yes, I know how it looked. I was standing there by myself holding government free food coupons with 5 young children of two different races, and I myself look even younger than I am, which is young. I looked irresponsible. Nobody could know I was married, and that all foster children under the age of 5 receive WIC. Regardless of stereotypes and my appearance in that moment, my mind was absolutely blown when I saw the couple get into their vehicle that had a single bumper sticker on the back. The bumper sticker said — pro-life."

It's why they dehumanize women and loathe real, live children. It's why they never seem to shrink from telling the most transparent and outrageous lies. Their need to shame women for sex overrides everything else in their psyches.

pro-life. They are anti-choice or anti-abortion, period. We must stop indulging this linguistic lie and we certainly must stop using it ourselves.

For me personally, abortion is not an option, but neither is forcing another human being into illness, misery, even death.

Notice how the anti-death penalty movement within the right wing is nonexistent.

They are really pro-forced-birth.

Father of child refuses to pay for abortion.

Father of child refuses to pay child support, stating child not his.

DNA proves father of child. Father skips town.

State tracks father to garnish paycheck and tax returns.

State keeps money for services rendered. I'm looking at you Greg Abbott.

PS: This is not my story. Both my children were born in a church sanctified marriage (yuck).

Any time a thread comes up about buying soda with foodstamps, we see a parade of high-minded individuals righteously demanding to control the food choices made by other adults.

Nowhere in our society is there a shortage of anti-poor sentiment, not even here.

the "kick the people while they're down" folk - it's a power thing - the less power they have in their own life, the more they think they can take it out on others they see as not up to their standards

adoption. If the woman doesn't have an abortion, and raises the child, they are furious with her too.

It sickens me that we live in a society that relentlessly refused to acknowledge the life-long grief often suffered by birth mothers.
