He is exploiting a loophole in patent law that says anyone can alter the price of an established drug that they say they will find new uses for or they have found new uses for. Therefore, justifying the price increase. This is a ruse. He has no intention of spending any money to find new uses for this drug or developing any others. His company valued at $50 million will now soar to $2.4 billion or more. As soon as he's happy, he'll dump it and run with the money.
