(26,251 posts)The nuns would tie her left arm down so she had to learn to write with her right hand. She wrote right handed and did most other things left handed. In turn, she kind of passively did the same thing to me, which taught me to be somewhat ambidextrous, too. The down side, for me, is I sometimes really have to stop and think to correctly identify right from left. That proved to be a real challenge during marching drills, in basic training. I guess the brain can re-wire itself, only so far.
