Ben Carson argued evolution was ‘encouraged by’ Satan

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/ben-carson-argued-evolution-was-encouraged-satan?cid=sm_fb_maddow

"As it turns out, the same year, Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson delivered remarks that were strikingly similar. BuzzFeed reported yesterday:

In a speech delivered in 2012, Ben Carson said the big bang theory was part of the “fairy tales” pushed by “high-faluting scientists” as a story of creation.

Similarly, Carson, a noted creationist, said he believed the theory of evolution was encouraged by the devil.

I wish I could say that’s an exaggerated description, but it’s really not. The retired right-wing neurosurgeon, known for his off-the-wall ideas about a great number of issues, called the science surrounding the big bang “ridiculous,” and added in reference to evolution, “I personally believe that this theory that Darwin came up with was something that was encouraged by the adversary.”

Is as sound a theory as exists in all of science. It explains the universe as it is back to a few billionths of a second. I suppose quantum physics abd relativity - the most tested and verified theories in the history of science, are bogus, too.

How did this simpleton ever make it through med school?

Really? How does one medically understand the human body, but believes in fairy tales about demons and dragons? Makes no sense to me at all.

I mean, I can see being a brain surgeon and playing D&D. NOT being a brain surgeon and believing D&D to be reality.

Ancient people did brain surgery.

Unlike working on, for example, hearts, the brain itself compensates for damage. You go in, cut out the lesion or tumor, seal off bleeding, get out, and hope for the best.

If you think about it, it's got to be the simplest internal organ to work on.

Scott Walker dodges question about evolution beliefs during trade visit to UK

Republican presidential hopeful Scott Walker has refused to say whether he believes in the theory of evolution, arguing that it is “a question a politician shouldn’t be involved in one way or the other”.

Webb, who was chairing the talk, responded that “any British politician, right- or leftwing, would laugh and say ‘yes of course evolution is true’”.
