Right-Wing Threesome Gone Wrong Led to Mysterious Yale Stabbing-SuicideFiled to: crime

A mysterious stabbing and suicide that rocked the campus of Yale University last spring took place in the midst of a three-way sex romp gone terribly awry, according to newly released documents from the New Haven Police Department.
The student body was shocked in late May when recent Yale graduate and conservative activist Tyler Carlisle attacked his friend, undergraduate Alexander Michaud, with a knife in his New Haven apartment and promptly leaped to his death out of his 9th floor window. Details on how and why the crime occurred were scant at the time, leaving the event shrouded in mystery.
But a police incident report obtained by Gawker under Connecticuts Freedom of Information Act shows that the men were not alone at the moment of the grisly crime: They were engaged in a threesome with a female Yale undergraduate, whose attentions on Michaud apparently inspired Carlisle to stab his longtime friend in the neck and then kill himself.
The circumstances of the incident, and the presence of the female undergraduate, have never been reported, leaving people who knew Carlisle and Michaud baffled by the crime. Both men grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire and were members of Yales Party of the Right, a hardcore right-wing division of the campus debating society. Most of their friends, according to the Yale Daily News, were unaware of anything but friendship and intellectual camaraderie between them.

(15,031 posts)This is the second recent 3-way I've read about that ended in violence. The first was two women and a guy where one of the women attacked the guy (her husband, if memory serves) because he was too enraptured with the other woman.
What a place for jealousy: During ménage à trois. We humans are certainly a peculiar breed.

(38,187 posts)you are doing it wrong. Maybe that is why right wingers hate sex so much. They can't figure out how we liberals can manage to do it right, i.e. without killing someone.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
Newly released documents from the New Haven Police Department, published by Gawker early Wednesday, shed new light on the circumstances that led to a stabbing and student suicide in May.
The NHPDs report on the incident, which took place in the Taft Apartments on College Street in the early hours of May 26, reveals that Tyler Carlisle 15 was involved in a three-way sexual encounter with two other students, one male and one female, before he stabbed the male student once in the neck and then jumped out of a ninth-story window to his death.
At Yale-New Haven Hospital, the male student who was stabbed, Alexander Michaud 17, described to police officers the events that had led to the stabbing. Michaud was later declared to be in stable condition and fully recovered roughly two weeks after the incident.
Michaud, {the female student}, and Carlisle had all been drinking, according to the police report. The three of them were having sex in the bedroom, and Carlisle started to get jealous of Michaud and [the female student]. Carlisle grabbed a knife that was on the nightstand next to the bed. Carlisle stabbed Michaud in the neck area.

The apartment was only a few blocks from the hallowed halls of Yale University, but the horrors inside were unrecognizable from any Ivy League ideal.
....
The May 26 incident made national news, mostly because it made no sense. The two men were acquaintances, if not friends. Michaud was a talented Yale undergraduate. Carlisle, meanwhile, was a brilliant young man who in high school had been voted most likely to succeed. He had excelled at Yale, studying philosophy and emerging as a conservative political leader on campus. He had just graduated days before, promptly enlisting in the Army.
You expected him to be a senator, friend Emelia Attridge told the New Hampshire Union Leader. ... Now he was dead the culprit in what cops called an assault and suicide.
New Haven Police were coy with the details. Authorities had a pretty strong sense but were staying mum until the investigation concluded, officer David Hartman told the Union Leader, located in Carlisles hometown of Manchester, N.H.
