Valinda Freed, left, vice chairwoman of the Missouri Republican Party, writes on a business card atop a Thomas Hart Benton painting in the Missouri Statehouse.
COLUMBIA, Mo. A community newspaper photographers picture of a Republican official using a Thomas Hart Benton mural as a writing backdrop went viral on Monday.
Dave Marner, the editor of the Gasconade County (Missouri) Republican, took the picture of the Missouri Republican Partys vice chairwoman, Valinda Freed, and an unidentified man, scribbling on business cards pressed against the mural. Mr. Marner was covering a veto session at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City last Wednesday when he snapped the photo.
I was befuddled, he said. Who exchanges numbers on a Thomas Hart Benton mural?
Mr. Marner shared the photo on his Facebook page Friday afternoon, and art bloggers and news organizations began to pick it up. People from at least eight foreign countries have shared the photo, said Mr. Marner, who has been a photojournalist for more than 30 years. Ive never had a photo just go ballistic like this."

(111,241 posts)3. That's just about the level of their understanding
but they still can't imagine why Stupid would bother to paint the doggie instead of just snapping a photo. After all, once photos were invented, all that art stuff became obsolete. Might as well dent the canvas by writing on business cards on top of it, nobody cares about it any more. It's only stupid cornstalks, you know, you can go in any field and get your fill of those every fall.
Yeah, I know the mindset, the plodding, stupid mindset that says if you can't use it to your own advantage, you can go ahead and wreck it.

I just can't imagine how a person would think that is an ok thing to do.

They don't care about this big blue ball. It can go fuck itself as far as Repukes are concerned.
