Jeb Bush calls Americans who oppose Keystone XL pipeline 'Environmental Extremists'

Jeb Bush Verified account
@JebBush

.@HillaryClinton finally says what we already knew. She favors environmental extremists over U.S. jobs. #KeystoneXL

Crooks and Liars:

When I use the word "extremist," it's usually in reference to right-wing extremists who bomb abortion clinics or attack mosques. I use the word "extremist" in these extreme cases because that's when it's warranted. Take a look at the definition and you'll understand why.

"Extremist: a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action."

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if Jeb Bush saves the word for when it's really called for. This is what he decided to tweet when he heard that Hillary Clinton opposes the Keystone Pipeline.

.....

There are a few things to break down here. First off, there's only one way to actually be an "environmental extremist," and that's to commit eco-terrorist attacks. Bush appears to want to use this as a blanket term for those who don't want the Keystone Pipeline constructed. Unfortunately for Bush Part III, that's a decent chunk of the American populace.

.....

What makes his comment even nuttier is the fact that a very recent poll, which asked the Keystone Pipeline question a bit differently, showed that support for Keystone isn't as black and white as once thought. The question asked was:

"Obama has said he won't decide whether to approve a new oil pipeline from Canada to Texas until a review has determined whether it is in the national interest. The Republicans in Congress are working on a law to authorize the pipeline without Obama's approval. Which side do you support? Should the pipeline be authorized now, or should the review be completed before deciding?"

When asked whether the Keystone Pipeline should be immediately authorized or reviewed to gauge whether it's in our best interest, a full 61 percent of respondents said that a review should be completed before the pipeline was approved.

Which begs to question, what in the hell did Jeb think he was doing? He's now labeled a huge chunck of American citizens with the term used to describe eco-terrorists. All because he wants to claim that 35 permanent jobs is somehow a huge deal for American workers?

Heck, even the insanely-inflated 42,000 jobs Republican John Barrasso cited, which are temporary jobs, jobs that have already been completed and jobs that are in no way related to the pipeline, is meager compared to the 250,000 jobs created on average between May and July 2015. Oh, and these 42,000 temporary jobs only appear if you look at the entirety of the year.

Sorry Jeb, but opposing the Keystone Pipeline doesn't make us "environmental extremists." It makes us informed and educated about the fact that it'll do zilch for the economy while putting our environment in even more danger.

No thanks. Listen to your mama this time: "We've had enough Bushes."

Wonder if Jeb! is in the Pope's audience today, or if he is boycotting it, as some of his cohorts are...... because the Pope might talk about his support for policies to combat climate change.

Idiots.

So, Mr. Seven Percent, all your dark money ain't gonna prop you up.

It's past time to exit this stage.

It will make your multicultural family happy.

More pipelines and more oil sold to China will put more money in those accounts, and they need it.
