1. The Rude Pundit - and some of you - are giving Boehner too much credit as a human being

Just a few days before this cryfest, the democrats basically told Boehner that they weren't going to help him out with the likely coming attempt to oust him as speaker because he never followed through on promises to work with them after they helped out on previous ousting attempts. He was up there crying because he realized that he was going to lose his position of power that lets him sit behind people like the president, Bibi, the Pope, etc. and he couldn't see himself as just another congresscritter - disgraced at that.

His tears were for himself.

He does tend to cry rather easily and that might be a sign of alocholism.
