TWEET JEB!: Your brother didn't protect us on 9/11

Last edited Fri Sep 25, 2015, 02:15 PM - Edit history (1)

Not that Jeb has much chance of winning at this point, but he shouldn't be able to brag about his brother "keeping America safe for eight years."

I can kind of see why his primary opponents don't put a fork in that talking point, but it is criminal malpractice that leaders of the Democratic Party don't.

There was some argument for lining up behind Bush for a while after 9/11, but 14 years later, there is no reason to give Bush and his party a pass on this.

I tweeted this to Jeb:

@JebBush Your brother didn't protect us on 9/11. Just about every other president did a better job of protecting Americans in America.

I forgot to add, feel free to tweet this to JEB! yourself. This should be the only thing people see in his twitter feed.

Also assuming Republicans count New Orleans as "us"

I'm certain Bush wasn't counting the thousands of troops sent to their deaths in an optional war in the wrong country as the "us" his idiot brother kept safe.

If I were a compassionate person, which I am not, I could almost give him a pass for sitting, punch drunk, in the Florida classroom as it took me several minutes to realize that I just saw a bunch of people die when the second plane hit.
We don't have 911s happen every day but we do have hurricanes.

I still remember screaming at them to get water to the people on the overpass but it was a treat to see W's concern as he flew over NO in AF1. I know they weren't concerned but I did expect them to at least act concerned.

I am scared that W is the smart one...

But if you think of American interests as "Blackwater" or "Northrup Grummon" rather than, say, ordinary retirement account holders, then yes, Bush was good for you.

18. What did George W. Bush ever keep us safe from? Sharknados?
Fri Sep 25, 2015, 01:38 PM
Sep 2015

Certainly not terrorism. The largest terrorist attack in American history happened more than seven months into his first term. Prior to that, he never took any action against terrorism, never attended any meetings on terrorism, never had any of his senior aides attend meetings on terrorism, and he never made any "get-tough-on-terrorism" speeches until the evening of September 11th, when circumstances forced him to. I will admit that I don't know if he could have done anything that would have prevented the 9/11 attacks. But I do know he didn't even try.

He certainly didn't keep us safe when he invaded the wrong country for the wrong reasons and got more Americans killed than died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

He certainly didn't keep us safe when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, and he stayed on vacation, made no presidential plea for people to evacuate, didn't put everybody he could on alert, and his incompetent staff didn't get drinkable water to people struggling to survive in 90 degree heat in New Orleans for four days.

He certainly didn't keep us safe when allowing big banks to regulate themselves and it led to thousands losing their homes, nearly ruined the financial system of the whole wide world, and plunged us into the worst recession since The Great Depression.

But we didn't have any Sharknados until 2013. So . . . heckuva job, Bushie.
