Boehner wasn't good, but there are lots who are worse. I'm not necessarily gleeful about him leaving. Lots of hateful people will claim a win on this one and they'll be emboldened.

I have very mixed feelings about this. I do believe the next speaker will be more extreme- in tactics and rhetoric if not in actual policies. Part of me hopes maybe this'd backfire on Republicans but another part feels like they never seem to pay a price for their extremism.

It will probably be another establishment guy. Republicans usually go with those types as leaders. Last exception was Newt. Dole, McTurtle, ets. have all been deal-makers.
