Boehner Gossip Anyone?

GOP Candidates Welcome Boehner's Exit at Jubilant Summit
The House speaker's resignation filled the Values Voter Summit with applause and standing ovations as Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio celebrated the beginning of new era in Congress.

News About Boehner Resignation
by
LadyLake

The reason for writing it is that on Thom Hartman just now, Bob Ney was on.

Bob Ney got sent up the river for dirty dealing while in congress. When he got out he wrote a book, Sideswiped, about his years in congress and told some interesting tales out of school, including some about Boehner.

He still has alot of friends and contacts in the congress and talked with them about the resignation:

Apparently, there was a deal struck a few weeks back that Boehner would resign after the Pope came and spoke to congress.

He did not have the votes to ride out this latest uprising.

If he lost his speakership and remained in congress, his protection against crimes he's committed, dirty deals, ect., would come back to haunt him.

He has some huge enemies in the party, not just the tea party. The speakership protected him against corruption charges. Without the protection he's without any real help to beat them.

There are 4 people seriously being looked at for speaker. Steve Scalise, Jeb Hensarling, Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan.

If Kevin McCarthy, one of the infamous Young Guns, gets it it will only be with alot of concessions to the extreme wings of the party.

Jordan and Hensarling are members of the 'Freedom Caucus'. I don't know about Scalise but, I would think so because it is the extreme conservative, tea party caucus.

McCarthy is considered 'moderate and establishment'.

Hensarling is part of a group of republicans who's main cause is impeaching Obama.

Scalise is a racist and tea partier.

Ney does not think Jordan will get the spot but, if he does, he is a real reactionary.

Either way, look for alot of shut downs, alot of emotional, reactionary laws, behavior and the house in total chaos.

The one bright light is that these clowns may be the true unmasking of the republican party and their masters. One that even the corporate press cannot ignore.

hmmmmm?

Keyword : considered.

There is really no good alternative to Boehner.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027202804

A few reminders about our future speaker, Kevin McCarthy.

The media like to describe Kevin McCarthy as a nice guy and a moderate, but he is definitively not a moderate.

First of all, he was a poor whip and a poor majority leader (problems became worse when he became majority leader).

He is an opportunist who decided to ditch the ExImp Bank as a pledge to the Tea Party. It was his first statement when Cantor lost his seat.

Finally, while Boehner was not somebody who spent a lot of time on social issues, it seems McCarthy (and his wife) are part of the oppressed christians movement.

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/kevin-mccarthys-wife-says-she-losing-her-right-be-christian

Note that, while it is Ms McCarthy speaking, he was present when she said that and does not even blink.

So, he is probably a lot more right wing that we are told.

Edit: I forgot he was also responsible for the recruitment of the 2010 Republicans (otherwise said the Tea Party). He can as well deal with the mess he created.

There may be a few Hitler-wannabes that see leading their christian foot-soldiers into a complete destruction of our little democratic experiment.

John Cougar Mellencamp's song, "Hurts so Good" comes to mind. The only way this benefits us and helps to get us on the right track (maybe), is for one of these extremist to totally screw up government, which I have no doubt they will. The problem is that The Orange Man and his crew have been pretty bad for a long time and we still have half the country think Obama and the Democrats are the big problem.
I think it will help in the elections, but they are still over a year away.

Boehner is gone if not now then soon and they are going to be putting one of the crazies up in his place. Then we are going to have nearly a year of their mismanagement and insanity to point to as a major election is coming up. Bernie gaining ground and republicans running full tilt towards insanity. This election has the potential to be the tipping point where we pull our country out of this corrupted pool of filth it has been wallowing in.

the key word here is GERRYMANDERING. We may not be able to get the House back until after the 2020 census - and that's only IF we can take back some state legislatures. Dems have been asleep at the wheel. I am afraid of what comes next. It's like driving by a terrible car accident - don't want to see the carnage, but can't look away.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/25/exclusive-mark-levin-warns-house-republicans-not-support-kevin-mccarthy-speaker/

MARK LEVIN WARNS HOUSE REPUBLICANS: DO NOT SUPPORT KEVIN MCCARTHY FOR SPEAKER

Popular talk radio host and best-selling author Mark Levin is warning Republicans in Washington: don’t replace outgoing House Speaker Rep. John Boehner with Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Levin’s a tirelessly warrior against Speaker Boehner and the Washington establishment. “Kevin McCarthy is Eric Cantor with ten less IQ points,” Levin declares in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

The radio star adds Republicans must learn their lesson and not repeat the mistakes they made following Eric Cantor’s historic fall from power—namely that Republicans must replace Boehner with a “principled conservative.”

That's a cut-n-paste job by me. So, yes, Breitbart editors actually write commentary like "Levin’s a tirelessly warrior {sic} against Speaker Boehner..." and slips like syntactically pairing "mistakes they made" with "replace Boehner with a principled conservative."

50. Boehner speaking as "free man": "Beware of false prophets."
Sun Sep 27, 2015, 01:09 PM
Sep 2015

Asked if "some" members of the GOP conference have unrealistic expectations:

“Absolutely they’re not realistic,” Boehner said. “Change comes slowly, and obviously too slowly for some. … There are people out there spreading, uh, noise about how much can get done. I mean this whole idea that we were going to shut down the government to get rid of Obamacare in 2013 just plain never had a chance.”

“We got groups here in town, members of the House and Senate, her in town, who whip people into a frenzy believing they can accomplish things that they know — they know — are never going to happen.”

(Mr. Boehner would know. The GOP has spent over 35 years tearing down the progressive accomplishments of the previous 60 years and still has much work to do. Dismantling Social Security and Medicare, of course, being particularly resistant evils that require more time. And now Obamacare.)
