so we watched PBS News Hour where the Pope was mentioned some and then switched to the opening concert live from Lincoln Center. We concluded that this is where the Jews probably were..

I'm not a catholic, and basically irreligious, but I find it refreshing to see something besides the respite of pettiness and venality and negativity that usually infuses the airwaves.

I can understand covering his speeches, but everyone was focused on a building the other day..."The pope should be coming out soon. Let's see if he'll greet the crowd". Had to be a good half hour that they were just showing a door. He came out of the building, waved, then got in his Fiat and drove off!

Like I said, I understand coverage of the visit, but it's really being overdone.

TV, especially when you have a set with no off button, is that you become enslaved to whatever they broadcast.

Unless you've been shackled to a post in front of the TV with your eyes taped open, you really do have options.
