On TYT, question: should schools close on Muslim holidays

NO and they shouldn't close on ANY religious holiday. In fact, do any of the other holidays still have any meaning to very many people anyway? Lets just drop holidays, and add a few days of 'vacation' to the workers benefits.

If enough kids would take off anyway that instruction would be disrupted, the school should close. For example, my kids' school is mostly Christisn students so they get Good Friday off, but there is a significant minority of Jewish students so the school also closes for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Keep Christmas. It is the one time of year everyone is cheery. Winter solstice sounds boring compared to Merry Christmas!

where everyone a certain amount of time off a year, which they must ask for in advance. Also, since few holidays are in July or August, they might as well being the year earlier, as summer vacation in and of itself is an anachronism to the days when kids needed to be more to help with the harvest.
