1. They honestly don't expect us to buy any of their crap

Their targets are people on farms and in small towns who might not have broadband and have to wait 5 minutes for pages with graphics to load on dialup, if they have computers at all. Their targets are people who think CBN and Pox News keep them informed and up to date. Their targets are good churchgoers who don't pay much attention to what happens in the real world since their eyes are on heaven.

Their lying is the lying of people who know they have a captive audience who will believe every word they say, no matter how outrageous it is to the rest of us. Of course they're getting clumsier and clumsier. They know they don't even have to pay lip service to verisimilitude any more.
