Iowa's Republican Voters Are Incredibly Bigoted – And Setting the Tone for a Hateful Primary

ELECTION 2016
Iowa's Republican Voters Are Incredibly Bigoted – And Setting the Tone for a Hateful Primary

What's wrong with Iowa?

By Zaid Jilani / AlterNet September 28, 2015

Why are leading GOP candidates demonizing Muslims, Mexicans, African Americans and other minority groups?

Part of the answer likely lies in the first state to hold a GOP caucus: Iowa. Polling shows that voters there hold views that are staunchly bigoted, and in some cases even unconstitutional.

Seems pretty normal for both bigotry and ignorance to me.

On a happier note, GOP folk are older than Democrats, which means every year more of them die off. Also, fewer young people are drawn to what it has become.
