They collaborate VERY well together to oppress women and gays.

Prop 8 is one example - and they do a fine fucking job restricting women's reproductive freedom everywhere they can.

And to quote BNW:

They are actively meeting and organizing. Time Magazine, Nov 2014

Vatican Strengthens Ties with Evangelicals and Mormons Against Gay Marriage
"The presence of American evangelicals and the LDS Church was particularly notable. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church, and Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, each gave speeches, and representatives from the Heritage Foundation and the Family Research Council in Washington attended. President Henry Eyring of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ first presidency spoke and Elder Tom Perry of the LDS’s Quorum of the Twelve also joined. In the United States, this trio of faiths has worked together to stand against the government’s Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate, but it was the first time they were coming together at the Vatican to talk about marriage."

Francis gave the key note speech. Tony Perkins had a great time, please read the article to share in his euphoria. Tony gave Kim an award on Friday.
Read it and weep, as Jesus wept.

3. Waiting to see how my Fundie Facebook Friends who've been calling the Pope the Antichrist react.

Maybe if we'll lucky they'll dump Davis.

The whole thing sounds pretty weird. The Vatican neither confirms nor denies the claim. Why? Did they actually think that the human publicity machine that is Kim Davis would keep silent? Was this some sort of inside the Vatican intrigue by right wingers within the Church to embarrass the Pope? Are they embarrassed that the Pope's carefully crafted image as a kinder gentler vicar of Christ been now been tarnished by association with this particular individual.

I'm interested in seeing how this plays out.

and meet to oppose marriage equality and choice. Here is a report from Time Magazine from November of 2014 about an anti marriage equality conference in Rome, produced by the Vatican to which they invited Tony Perkins of FRC who gave an award to Kim Davis on Friday. Francis spoke at the conference, Tony Perkins of FRC said the atmosphere was 'almost euphoric'.
Maggie Gallagher of NOM was invited and present, leaders of LDS, Southern Baptists, Rick Warren gave a speech.

So this one link not only shows they have good relations, it puts Francis in the room with Tony Perkins and Perkins present by Vatican invitation. Yeah, they all hate each other.

These are important issues to some people.

Pope Francis is in Rome this week at a "traditional marriage" conference. In attendance are some of America's most active anti-gay activists.
From news reports and social media, The New Civil Rights Movement is able to find at least these 14 anti-gay religious crusaders at the Vatican's Humanum:
Rick Warren, Pastor
Russell Moore, President of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission

Robert P. George, National Organization For Marriage Co-founder

Phillip Bethancourt, Executive VP, Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission

Maggie Gallagher, National Organization For Marriage Co-founder

Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council

Brian Brown, President, National Organization For Marriage,

Henry Eyring, President of the Mormon Church

Eric Teetsel, Executive Director of the Manhattan Declaration Institute

Ryan T. Anderson, Heritage Foundation Fellow

Mary Ann Glendon, former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican

Charles Chaput, Archbishop of Philadelphia

They still hate each other, but hate us worse. It's what holds them together.
