And you meet lots of people and you're nice to everyone you meet. And your friend introduces you to this lady named Kim Davis, and you're nice to her, too.

After you leave, you find yourself being criticized in all the papers because of that single meeting with Kim Davis. And you're wishing your friend never did that to you.

never considered it an important part of the itinerary or anything that was intended to have public ramifications.

It was just a private meeting with someone the Bishop of Kentucky, the head of the Bishop's Conference, asked him to meet.

If he wanted it to have a large impact, why would he have not made that publicly known while he was here? Why didn't he bring up anything about LGBT people while he was here?

He didn't want it to have a large impact.
He didn't want the public at large to know.
It was a secret kiss thrown to the right wingers.

The Pope probably consented to meet with someone who the Head of the Bishop's council, who happened to be the Bishop in Davis's state of Kentucky, wanted him to meet with.

The conservatives are out to undermine him. You could see this just listening to Philly's Chaput, whose introductions to the Pope were so different from any of the Pope's speeches.

So someone succeeded in undermining him. We shouldn't be rejoicing about this because we need him as an ally in the fight for the environment and against the excesses of capitalism.

and Tony Perkins invited, Tony who gave an award to Kim just hours before she met the Pope, same day and same city.
So read it, tell us how he got bamboozled into this one...

Vatican Strengthens Ties with Evangelicals and Mormons Against Gay Marriage

Really, read it. Tony had a great time at the Vatican, calls it 'almost euphoric' all that anti gay plotting. You will love this article, I promise!

But it did piss me off.
So, do I truly disagree, or do I think I should?
My evangelical born again siblings pissed me off so much I converted to Buddhism.
