Free Computer Recycling in Twin Cities, MN
As part of our clean-up at the home we've lived in since 2004, there was a big pile of old computer CPUs, a couple of monitors and a bunch of throwaway printers that had quit working after we had bought a few of their overpriced ink cartridges. Add a big bin of old cables, power blocks, keyboard, mice, and other accessories, and it added up to a big pile of tech garbage.
I did a search, and found a handy place called Tech Dump. They're an authorized recycler and charge absolutely nothing for dumping your old tech stuff off for recycling. Except for CRT monitors, which are $15 ea. to drop off. They'll also take other electronic waste, but there are varying charges for non-computer items.
Simplest thing in the world. Load it all in the back of the mini-wagon vehicle, back up to the door, and a friendly person unloads it, gives you a receipt and you're done. I paid my $30 to drop off the two monitors.
