This is pretty hilarious. Mark Takano is a Democrat. He's a congressman who represents California's 41st district. With all of the madness and general farce going through the Republican ranks these days, Mr. Takano decided to have a little fun, and maybe be a little helpful, by posting a Craigslist job notice for Republican Speaker of the House.
Are you an American Citizen? Do you have experience negotiating hostage situations? Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime? Then this job is for you!
We are seeking an extremely patient and motivated person to lead the U.S. House of Representatives.

(11,856 posts)Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution states, "The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers." Although the Constitution does not require the Speaker to be a Member of the House, all Speakers have been Members.

(10,345 posts)This is dead on. Seriously the best way to explain how the GOP currently works right now.
Other than that, this is some professional level trolling. Bravo congressman, bravo.

(12,448 posts)Thanks for this! You owe me a new monitor! Who needs comedy on film when we have the House Republicans going into total meltdown? Boehner's reaction to McCarthy's bombshell: "Well that was a surprise."

Nancy Pelosi.
On edit: I take that back, if Hillary wins the primaries, she too could unify the Republicans.
