(938 posts)Could only generally be used by law enforcement officers (Jedi), who operated on strict instructions from the council and the senate. In order to have a lightsaber, you had to undergo several years of intensive training (younglings have practice sabers when they are between four or five, as seen in the movies, and they do not get their own real lightsaber until they become a Padawan at age 13 at the earliest). Eventually, they are required to build their own lightsaber, using a crystal that they harvest themselves.
This is a model for gun control that I would support.
