Now That Everyone's Calling For The End Of The Benghazi Committee ... How Did It Get Started?

Fox News was a driving force behind House Republicans' formation of the sham Benghazi Committee. In fact, the network ran nearly 1,100 prime-time segments pushing the propped-up storyline in the first 20 months after the national tragedy alone.

On May 2, 2014, House Speaker John Boehner announced the Benghazi Select Committee. In the ensuing two weeks, as Media Matters reported, Fox News provided over $124 million dollars' worth of promotion on their airwaves. Mainstream media followed suit, awaiting each and every utterance of Rep. Trey Gowdy and his committee cronies.

http://postonpolitics.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2015/10/05/despite-benghazi-vote-hillary-clinton-so-proud-of-patrick-murphy/

Rep. Alan Grayson accused his Democratic Senate primary rival, Rep. Patrick Murphy, of aiding and abetting a Republican “witch hunt” of Hillary Clinton by voting last year to create a House select committee to investigate the 2012 Benghazi attacks.

But Clinton, known for her long memory of political slights, didn’t seem to hold Murphy’s vote against him. When Murphy attended a fundraiser for Clinton in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, the Democratic presidential front-runner recognized Murphy and told donors she is “so proud of him.”

First, whatever my linked source, this is absolute truth.
Second - WTF? She is "so proud" of a guy who was GOP until 2012, only switched to run against another repub, and is a DINO. Speaks volumes, not that I am surprised or anything.

Republicans wanted to go after HRC in case she decided to run for POTUS in 2016 and, in the words of McCarthy, make her "untrustable"......er......I meant, claimed to still "need answers". I think that the matter had already even been thoroughly investigated and major conspiracy theories (which shouldn't have even needed to be looked at anyway) debunked.

which seems to be giving far too much credit to the NYT.
