(31,970 posts)What the Senate Democrats have proposed would have had no affect on these shootings. But don't let facts stop you.

(23,156 posts)Just some of the thirty or so people who die every single day from guns in this country. The only reason these are anything other than local news is that they happened on or near college campuses. Otherwise, yawn. Just another day in the U.S.of A.

(1,958 posts)are terrible for the victims and their families, I don't think they should be classified as 'school shootings'. I'm not even clear if either actually happened on campus.

(18,318 posts)The newz is trying to resurrect the ability to move the crowd it once had 30 years ago; in those days it effected hegemony on the gun debate, and believed it could get a fast & dirty win at the end of the "activist" era. Not so much, now. But it longs for the daze of agenda-setting and throttling down the opposition. So it WILL return to those daze of shaming, personal attacks, cartoons, and culture war. The stuff which begat the 800 lb. NRA Gorilla. Now, they must contend with that opposition even as it struggles to remain partially relevant; now it must face the fact it is only reciting the second verse, same as the first.
