(58,785 posts)7. Right. Plus, the soils on those mountains wouldn't be there if they
normally got the kind of rain the east does. That's why just a few days of ordinary storms saturating the soils will start it sliding somewhere. But 4-6 inches an hour! We lived there for years and camped and fished in those mountains very often. It's hard to imagine sitting in 4 feet of mud on the I-5!
