http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/256971-paul-on-lgbt-workers-the-things-you-do-in-your-house-justI think, really, the things you do in your house, just leave those in your house, and they wouldnt have to be a part of the workplace, to tell you the truth, the presidential candidate said on Wednesday at Drake University....
I think society is rapidly changing, and if you are gay, there are plenty of places that will hire you, Paul said. And I would say the vast majority of corporations already privately have manuals or work manuals that say dont discriminate in any way, and I think that to be the fact. So Im really for the government not to be more involved in this situation. ...
So if you happen to be gay, you get fired now you have a reason you can sue them, Paul said.

(8,392 posts)Fine, Rand, provided you apply the SAME STANDARD to heterosexuals -- which means NO MENTION of spouse, kids, etc. Oh, and btw, that means no health insurance coverage for spouse or kids, because it would involve disclosing those relationships in the workplace.
So, do we have a deal?

(1,428 posts)If I see one more picture of some guy's wife on his desk I'm gonna scream! Putting all that dirty, nasty, ungodly sex in my face is just disgusting! Yeah they just try to pass it off as their loving spouse or the mother their children but we all know if you're in a relationship it's all about the dirty, nasty, sex you're having.

(45,319 posts)He says-

But without legal recourse available it is not possible to sue them. They break no law in Kentucky or 28 other States if they fire a person for being LGBT and they can't be sued for doing so. That's the point of the Equality Act or ENDA, which the Straight Congress refuses to pass decade after decade.

(4,225 posts)...to leave the private lives of their workers outside of work, private?
Drug tests, demanding you like your bosses on Facebook and/or hand over all your social media handles, credit checks for positions where credit history is completely irrelevant, company "wellness" programs that collect information that should be protected by HIPAA, it's all good!
By now some workplaces are undoubtedly so invasive that it'd be impossible for workers to stay in the closet as the teabaggers demand.
