China isn't a party to the TPP; saying it "will level the playing field with China and control their shananagins" is saying it helps the USA and other countries against China. Or was your OP meant to say "see? Obama was right about China!"?

is that Obama is as wrong about China acting in good faith as he was about Republicans acting in good faith.

And I'll add my own viewpoint - and it will be equally disastrous for the US if it (the TPP) goes through, and will only 'level the playing field' by dragging the standard of living for American workers down to third world conditions.

with the paticipating countries giving them more leverage against China. A "trade war" or sanctions will force China to join, eventually. I call bullshit. The US sold its soul, destroyed industries and lives here, helped to build a hostile super power, and is now easily manipulated. China continues to demonstrate that they can't be held to their agreements and are becoming more provocative since building islands in international waters. The trade policies go back decades, and since TPP isn't law, to this point, Obama gets a pass. But that could change if TPP goes through.

OK, whose plan is that? It can't be yours, because you call bullshit. Who is calling for a trade war and sanctions?

they'll invent an Orwellian euphemism by then, something like Harmonious Concord. A main objective of TPP is to pressure China into playing nice with others or face consequences. No one will call the consequences what they are, but that's the intent.
