I got polled by Gallup tonight....
Only after I did it did I find out that Gallup is not doing "Presidential horse race polls" this cycle.
I was asked about app/disapp Obama...
A LOT about religion....
And then favorable/unfavorable for these candidates:
HRC, Huckabee, and Carson. THAT WAS IT!!!
They asked if I were on a landline (yes) and a question about how many cell phone calls I make and receive (few).
They also want to follow up with an online survey on education and also asked if they could call me in the future.
Of course, I said yes....So many years ago that I worked for the original Gallup before it was sold to this soulless corporate thing in Iowa or Nebraska, wherever it is....when Andy Kohut was President (went to Pew, and, sadly, died recently)
This is so different from the OMNIBUS they used to run, asking about who one would vote for for President....it was polled continuously...along with all sorts of questions that firms would ask to be put on the questionnaire...It was done IN PERSON....
the telephone bank was a very small operation....I still have a list of what the phone interviewers would write down when they got a crazy interview...i.e., one called a number that turned out to be in a labor room and the woman screamed that she was having a baby, so get lost!! LOL!!!
I remember pulling samples from phone books at Gallup and another place I worked at, too!
