I have been recommending an alternative LGBT political film from the UK called 'Pride' which is more fun, less well known and for people who support Unions and LGBT all at the same time it's a very good use of time. Great cast.

of great power, power over men, power over many. Female power both righteous and corrupt has in fact been a part of the ethos of those films for a long, long time. So anyone who thinks that's a break from the 'canon', Virgina Hey got started at 'Warrior Woman' in part two. Tina Turner was 'Aunty Entity' the unquestioned ruler of Barter Town in part 3 and Max is rescued (hero rescued) by Savannah Nix a young woman who is leader of a small group of young survivors, whom at the end she leads forward to hopefully a better life.

So anyone who thinks 'non powerless women' are a break from the Mad Max narrative has not been paying any attention to the movies at all. Which is not surprising for a bunch of bigoted sexists.

Bigots in Twitter went ballistic over one of the characters (Rue) being cast as black. Those "true fans" were upset over the character being changed.... only problem was those "true fans" were not only bigots, they didn't pay attention to the book either... because the character was described as having "dark brown skin" in the book.
