1. BBC World News was very truthful

about what's happening here, playing clips of Trey Gowdy's remarks from 2 (?) weeks ago, the cost of the investigation and hearings. They called it a "witch hunt" as well.
(I'm not crazy about that term. Even though it's semantics, I don't like that it's being referred to a woman who has endured a lot of controversy from the RWers.)

2. The term is entirely appropriate.

It doesn't imply that Clinton is a witch. It implies that the GOP-dominated committee is trying to find evidence that she's a witch. And we all know that witches do not exist. So it's more like a kangaroo court with the premise that Clinton is guilty no matter what happens. Much like the investigation of Bill Clinton. They kept looking and fishing, until they found something.
