Has anyone heard how the student who got body slammed

is doing? I've heard several different answers, from concussion and broken bones to... She's fine. I don't imagine anything more than maybe a rug burn.(This from the Sheriff, the boss of macho cop)

Watching the vid, as a nurse and grandparent of a teen, I find it impossible to believe that she only sustained a rug burn. He slammed her to the floor like a rag doll, with absolute rage and fury and, IMO, intent to kill.

But I've yet to hear of her actual condition, and I think a lot of parents are wondering as well if she is physically going to be ok.

1. I am wondering that also. Her legs slammed the desk behind her.

Her head concussed the floor - hard. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a shoulder dislocation. Any or all.

Not to mention that he was grabbing at her breasts from behind her. Her instinctive reaction is the "assault on a police officer" that the police chief mentions.

Disgusting child abuse.

3. Well, she did hit out at him while she was in mid air...

I'm sure they would take that into consideration as an appropriate reason to kill her.

9. Did she hit out or were her arms just flailing around as she lost her balance?

4. Her lawyer reported that she has a broken arm and numerous other bruises.

He said her arm is in a cast.

I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard from the family at all.

5. Yes, but not a deadly rug burn, though, right?

Amazing that the Sheriff who will be deciding the fate of macho cop this morning didn't even care enough about the kid to ask about her condition.

Boggles the mind.

That's horrible. Was there even a rug in the classroom? No, I don't think so.

That cop should already be under arrest.

Six frames of the worst of the video are on the front page of my local paper this morning. Very glad to see that.

7. He said it yesterday afternoon on CNN,

and only after being asked about her condition. He seemed a bit surprised that this was even a concern. He said he hadn't heard anything about any injuries and didn't imagine she had any, apart from "maybe a rug burn".

Absolute lack of interest or concern for the kid.

I truly can't see how anyone could watch that video and not see all kinds of wrong.

10. Lawyer: Teen suffered several injuries in classroom arrest

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The attorney for a teen who was flipped backward out of her desk and tossed across a classroom says his client did suffer several injuries during her arrest.

<SNIP>

"She now has a cast on her arm, she has neck and back injuries. She has a Band-Aid on her forehead where she suffered rug burn on her forehead," Rutherford told the network.

11. Thanks! I truly was wondering because

I have grandkids and also I work with kids, and I feel like no one asked the the first correct question: Is the child alright?

I mean, isn't that what we immediately ask if a family member or friend has been in an accident of some sort? But in this case, I was hearing everything else: "Was she black or white?" "Is he a racist?" "Did she hit him first?"

It really angered me that the first questions were the wrong ones.

12. True - I worried about the girl, too

That's why I looked for any article I could find on her condition.

I don't care if the cop is racist or not - his handling of the situation was way over the top and endangered that child.

13. Thank you. Even to this day, the Sheriff's report:

She was a troublemaker and wasn't being cooperative.

SO WHAT?

Teenagers have melt downs, especially if they are going through crisis situations at home. I'm in my sixties, white, and I remember a girl in in my class who our church bible teacher called all of us as being whores and sluts (boys included) and our friend went OFF! And she was probably the quietest one in the group.

No police were involved. I'm sure her parents were told. It was just hushed up. But she was our hero because she defended her friends and refused to allow her to call us names.

She should have sucked up her grief over her mom's death and accepted the kindness of strangers.

If this is indeed true, it just gets sadder and sadder. 😰😪😥😰
