Insurers limit plan types for 2016 ACA exchange in Houston

http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/medical/article/Insurers-limit-plan-types-for-2016-ACA-exchange-6594447.php?cmpid=btfpm

Last summer, Brenda Hebert got a letter from her insurer, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, that it would no longer be offering her Preferred Provider Organization plan on the federal marketplace exchange for 2016.

In the whole city of Houston only HMO offerings

Brenda Hebert fears the HMO offerings will limit her choices of doctors and types of care.

so I can understand why a large metro area might want to switch to HMO.

I also think that most people are not that tethered to "their doctor" these days. Most people want A doctor..

I am no fan of Kaiser, but I am so thankful we have their Advantage plan .. Since January, my hospital/doctor/meds costs have exceeded $66K (two strokes) and what have we paid put of pocket in total? $175.00..This does not include the $114 a month that medicare takes out automatically, but we are seriously thankful we have the HMO plan. I cannot see how anything else would have been better for us..
