SF: Please vote YES on Prop. F!!!!

WHY WE NEED PROP F

Thousands evicted. Thousands of tenants have been forced out or evicted so apartments can be converted into illegal AirBnB hotels.

Making the housing crisis worse. Over 70% of the 10,000 short-term rentals in San Francisco are entire units, not shares. This eliminates affordable housing and makes our housing crisis even worse.

Weak law. Only 600 of 10,000 short-term rentals -- less than 10% -- are registered with the city as required by law.

Parades of strangers. Neighborhoods and apartment buildings are being overrun with illegal short-term rentals and unruly visitors.

No approval required. Right now anyone -- even in-law apartment renters -- can put their space on Airbnb without a property owner's approval.

WHAT PROP F DOES

Stops illegal conversion of affordable rental units into tourist hotels.

Prohibits illegal rentals from being advertised on website platforms like AirBnB.

Enables enforcement of hosting limits by requiring hosts to submit regular reports.

Requires a property owner's approval before an apartment is offered to short-term tourists.

Strengthens corporate accountability by allowing neighbors to sue website hosting corporation for failing to follow the law.

Sets fair, reasonable rules for hosts who want to rent out an extra room to make ends meet
