For a long time I've thought of CNBC as the right wing arm of NBC News to counter balance MSNBC's leftward lean, since CNBC is aimed towards a more conservative audience a la the Wall Street Journal or Investor's Business Daily. Also CNBC's best known pundits are conservatives - think Joe Kernan (whose book Your Teacher Said What? expresses SHOCK that American schools dare criticize capitalism!), Rick Santelli (of the "we need a new Tea Party" fame), and Larry Kudlow (who has gone on to host a radio show syndicated on many stations that also carry Limbaugh and such).
So that's why I found it amusing how Reince Preibus shut the door on NBC hosting debates after the CNBC debate. Why, because one of the moderators asked Ben Carson about a story broken by the not-exactly-pinko Wall Street Journal of all sources? But then, Fox Business Network exists.
