(38,302 posts)I look forward to the "at least one thing better" state.
Hope. That's it. Occasionally anger.
Otherwise I'd probably just stop eating and fade away.

(13,865 posts)Sounds about right though.
Here's to a happier and unified DU this time next year.

(38,302 posts)Mr. Fish might like Zoloft.
I suspect you would not like me on Zoloft.
Nobody does.

(5,902 posts)2016, you see, will have the South Node of the Moon in Pisces (which it's been in since November).
There will be a higher risk of floods, of course, and the issue of rising sea levels may make itself felt in a big way; keep travel by sea to a minimum this year.
Avoid risky drug use and even surgery involving general anesthesia, since narcotics (ruled by Pisces) will be made problematic by this South Node placement. Watch for celebrity overdoses (not necessarily lethal) and suicides, as well as major incidents involving con men and cults (two of the other common negative iterations of Pisces).
On the positive side, this should be a far less bellicose year than 2014 and 2015, when the South Node was in Aries. Fewer wildfires too (and those that do occur are far more likely to be intentional). Much intrigue in politics and world affairs this year (even more than usual) - but by the same token, much more likely to backfire on the perpetrators.
Election this year should be interesting. Unlike in 2000, however, tricksters will find it most inauspicious (this means you, GOP).
Above all, Happy New Year, kpete, and all at DU!

be due to astrologiy, but to climate change.
On edit: my original words were needlessly blunt, and made DU suck a little bit.

(5,902 posts)You know, a little tact goes a long way.
Take postulater. He didn't much care for the post either; but he came up with a polite and witty reply. Something to consider at least.
Anyway, have a good new year. All the best for 2016!

(5,902 posts)I'd be lying if I told you that I was always at my very best every time I saw a post I didn't like.
You'll be happy to know I do plan on voting for Bernie Sanders on primary day (which is March 1 where I live). I don't mind admitting that like many Democrats, for a while I thought Hillary was our only real shot once it became apparent that Biden wouldn't run; but Bernie's own strength was really persuaded me otherwise in the last few months.
Personally I've always liked him, even as a kid in 1990 when I first heard of him after his upset victory in the Vermont congressional race that year. May history repeat itself.
Best wishes for 2016!

(5,902 posts)Bernie said it best: "Hillary, on her worst day, is infinitely better than anything coming out of today's Republican Party."

(9,003 posts)I used to get a giddy feeling on New Years Eve that maybe this next year was going to be better, that things were going to be alright after all.
Then you flip on the news and it's the same old shit.
I haven't had that giddy feeling in years now. It was just artificial anyway.
