I saw on the TV news that the leader of the pack is Cliven Bundy's son. The early Mormon families were great for this kind of thing, moving in and declaring themselves above the law. Evidently, the Bundy clan never got the memo. It's not 1870 anymore, folks.

1964 or 1967,and his so called claim to adjoining BLM acreage is pure B.S.. Yes all of this area was the Mormon State of Deseret in the late 1880's,and in saying that, lot of today's Mormon followers seem to think nothing has change and their church will regain it's Theocracy back.

The Bundy Clan is a real interesting group of individuals to say the least.

Guess they are starting small before they go after the Hollywood Hills and all the casino's in Vegas. The Mormons asked for all that land but were never granted it and settled for Utah. Those were just proposed boundaries.

to find that the mormons own or run much if not most of Vegas. Their idea of "zion" includes much of the western hemisphere and they think it is the promised land and that when the rapture happens, they'll get it all as well as all those planets they are promised after they die. They act as though they already own it.

Which reminds me of a joke...

A Catholic, a Baptist and a mormon all die in a car crash... upon arrival at the pearly gates St. Peter greets them and asks which one is the mormon guy to whom he asks to follow him and tells the other two that he'll be right back. A few moments later St. Peter comes back to find the other two in a confused state. He asks them to follow him into heaven and gives them a brief tour of the area they are privy to. He tells them that they can go all over god's heaven but they are, most strictly, to stay away from a particular door. they agree to abide by the rules and go about exploring heaven. After a considerable time they find themselves wondering what happened to that other guy and eventually also find themselves near the particular door. They start to converse about this befuddling thing when an angel appears, shushes them hurriedly and instructs them to get away from the door. They move away from the door and inquire about what that was all about and what's behind the door anyway? The angel replies, that's where all the mormons are, they think they're the only ones here."

I know many more but they wouldn't be appropriate to repeat.

it being a wonderful source of fresh water for agriculture.

In fact, that area in the map going into Oregon is ONLY a part of Deseret for that reason.
