(6,568 posts)You can post stuff for your blog/whatever, as long as you participate in discussions. This poster just posts for profit (and it's usually poorly written summaries of better written articles) with a click-bait title.

I am just about out of my monthly data allotment, and your blog has lots and lots of very high bandwidth ads.

(62,444 posts)That's the point!
He only ever bangs out a couple of paragraphs of stuff regurgitated from other news articles and posts a clickbait headline here.
That is ALL this poster does on DU.

(1,142 posts)Hundreds of supporters showed up in Burns, Oregon on Saturday to protest the upcoming arrest of ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond. The Hammond's were charged with committing arson on federal land and were scheduled to be put in jail on Monday. After the largely peaceful protest, Ammon Bundy and his two brothers led a group of about 150 people to take over Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters. Since that time, the group has been described as "heavily armed," and The Washington Post provided even more information on Jan. 4.
"These men came to Harney County claiming to be part of militia groups supporting local ranchers," Harney County Sheriff David Ward said in a statement on Monday. "In reality these men had alternative motives, to attempt to overthrow the county and federal government in hopes to spark a movement across the United States."
The militia is still occupying the land, and while they say they don't want to resort to violence, they are on the record stating they will act out if they feel it is necessary and are "prepared to fight." While the White House has referred to the Oregon standoff as a "local law enforcement matter," the FBI has now been forced to step in and take over the responsibilities.
The FBI said in a statement that they will be working with state and local authorities, but will limit the information they release due to the "safety considerations" of all involved. It is unknown as of press time whether the Bundy militia will give up their occupation of the refugee without the use of force.
