President Obama has officially made a major step in curbing gun violence in the United States. The details will almost certainly lead to serious backlash from Republicans, but there's nothing much they can even do about it.

"gun show loop hole" will be closed. Federal agencies were directed by Obama on Monday to restrict any sales by unlicensed dealers, mandating that they obtain a federal firearms dealers license to continue to operate. In addition all purchases must include a background check, an area that many gun show transactions were able to avoid.




Attorney General Loretta Lynch stated, "The goal is keeping bad actors away from firearms." Obama and most other Democrats have echoed similar sentiments, highlighting a serious divide between liberals and conservatives. It was also announced that the FBI will hire as many as 230 more employees to help conduct the increase in expected background checks.
