A musician just returned to NJ after a tour of several Midwest states and has reported that TV has been running advertisements that laud Governor Chris Christie's "accomplishments" in NJ.
What's going on? Christie said he's not going for the nomination but left the door open as a running mate?
Or . . . is he priming himself for a brokered convention? Being duplicitous by saying he's not running but the money is being budgeted right now for a campaign?

(23,973 posts)Christie has no chance at a direct shot at the presidency, though.
He's been trying to tone down the loud-mouthed mook aspect of his personality, but like all Republicans, doesn't think anyone ever video recorded him being an asshole to people.

(63,893 posts)Because he is also physically large, he comes across as menacing, and his NJ accent doesn't help. If he's on the Romney ticket as VP candidate, he will look nasty compared with Joe Biden. I think Biden can make short work of him in a debate, tho. Biden has the working class thing all figured out. So Christie's advantage there is nullified. Women won't like his snarl. Some men will think he's just great, but it remains to be seen how many of THEM will like the guy. So at the end of the day, you would have two republicans looking menacing in their own way. Romney is the guy who closes your factory and you are out of a job. Christie acts thuggish to the women (and older men) who try to question him. This team ain't pretty...
