http://www.spunk.org/texts/writers/decleyre/sp001334.htmlFirst off, re-familiarize yourself with de Cleyre's classic.
Now, the simple fact is: direct action works, and the Y'allqaeda jackoffs in Oregon are living proof of it.
There are more people talking about BLM land use regulations today than in the past 15 years.
It was direct action, and it worked.

(4,168 posts)I'm considerably more knowledgeable about BLM land use than before, but it's just convinced me that the protestors are greedy, self-entitled idiots. Their direct action worked.... if by worked you mean exposed their years of abusing federal land at below market prices.

(34,661 posts)Men and Women who work for the Forest Service and the BLM. They are so dedicated to their jobs and believe in preserving our Federal Lands for future generations. Had we not had this extended drought, there would not be this Grazing issue, the same for Mineral Extractions, these folks are just trying to preserve what little is left.
As for these so called Militia People. Nothing more than Grifters and Grafters. If it was not for the our Government assistance programs, they probably be in deep do do.

(37,748 posts)If their goal was to get more people researching and discussing BLM, it worked. However, if the apparent goal of the takeover is ultimately to induce the federal government to turn over government-owned land to local ranchers, loggers, and miners for their use, then we are presented with a side effect rather than a success.
