GOP Lawmaker Circulates Post Calling For Execution Of The Judge In Oregon Land Case
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 1/5/2016 3:15 pm
It seems that at least one more GOP lawmaker has come out in favor of the seizure of a federal building by Ammon Bundys makeshift militia in protest of the resentencing of Steven and Dwight Hammond for arson on federal property. And of course its Gordon Klingenschmitt . Klingenschmitt, the Colorado state representative/televangelist/demon-hunter/exorcist/conspiracy theorist , shared a post on his Facebook page suggesting that the judge presiding over the Hammons case is guilty of treason and should therefore be hanged.
"ALL JUDGES who do not allow Constitutional law to be cited to the Jury needs to be PROSECUTED for Title 18 U.S. Code section 2381 Capital Felony Treason Title 18 U.S. Code section 2381 When in the presence of two witnesses to the same overt act or in an open court of law if you fail to timely move to protect and defend the constitution of the United States and honor your oath of office you are subject to the charge of capital felony treason, and upon conviction you will be taken by the posse to the nearest busy intersection and at high noon hung by the neck until dead
The body to remain in state till dusk as an example to anyone who takes his oath of office lightly."
In the comment section, Klingenschmitt said of the militia: I will disagree with them if they turn violent, but not until then. During the 2014 standoff at the Bundy ranch between militia members and law enforcement agents, the Republican lawmaker told viewers of his Pray In Jesus Name broadcast that the government might try to murder the people in the freedom movement at the ranch and bury their bodies in a mass graves.

It is the stuff of legends (maybe nightmares is a better word), but I keep hearing they are going to forge their way into the 20th century one of these years

(26,355 posts)IIRC, Colorado is like Congress and most other state legislatures in that members can get censured on a vote of the legislative body (in his case, Colorado's House of Representatives), and if cases of members being really criminally naughty, can, on a vote of the House, be expelled.
But yeah, Assless Chaps is being extra clueless today.

(5,325 posts)But, having been duly elected, I do not believe that an office holder should be removed from office simply because s/he proposes foolish legislation or because I happen to think that s/he is a nutcase (unless demonstrably dangerous) or because I think his religious beliefs are outrageous. Based on what you've shown, I do not see anything that should be impeachment-worthy.
