“Think about how I am feeling, how we are suffering, think about that.”

The grieving mother of Zaevion Dobson dissolved into sobs Tuesday in her Tennessee living room when she heard President Obama call out her son’s name.

“Tears of joy, they’re tears of joy,” an emotional Zenobia Dobson told the Daily News moments after Obama’s gun control speech concluded.

“To know that his actions reached that far ... it brought me a sense of peace, that someone would even know my son by his name and that the President would call out his name in a press conference, it is just truly an honor,” the overwhelmed mother said.

Her 15-year-old son Zaevion, a sophomore in high school and a football player, was killed last month when he shielded three girls from a trio of drive-by shooters.

The teen was fatally struck by a bullet but the girls survived thanks to him.

President Obama, speaking about his executive action to impose stricter gun control laws, praised Zaevion for his bravery — but noted that the teen shouldn’t have had to sacrifice his life to save others.

...“We need stricter gun control laws for many reasons but especially to protect our children,” she said.

She called on those who oppose gun control reform to set aside their feelings and “think about how I am feeling, how we are suffering, think about that.”
