Brian Cavalier the personal bodyguard of controversial ranchers Cliven and Ammon Bundy who lead the group openly boasted to members of the press that he is a Marine who served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
But Daily Mail Online has learned that Cavalier, 44, has faked his military background to appear more credible as a militia henchman - a fact sure to anger some of the group's supporters.
According to US Marine Corp records Cavalier has never served as a Marine, whether it be as a recruit or a Marine Corps contractor.

(1,905 posts)I picked it up from a guy who would rant against Druggie Limbaugh aka the world's greatest military and political genius with a boil on his fat ass.
Limbaugh loved to call Feminists "feminazis". The conservanazis who love the fat drug addict would think it's so funny because he's such a great entertainer. Use the word conservanazis and they get their panties all wadded up because using words to DEMONIZE them is just so work.

(9,951 posts)conservative and liberals alike, one of the few issues we have in common.
Hoyt
(54,770 posts)That's what you don't get. How many of your "conservative buddies" support Trump or another right wing racist candidate, even though they didn't serve, and in Trump's case actively avoided service?
BTW -- they should dislike posers. But, they shouldn't support this guy's white wing terrorist behavior either.
GGJohn
(9,951 posts)you'll never understand why we hate posers and will call them out every time we run across one.
Hoyt
(54,770 posts)this guy because his gun loving, racist, white wing attitude offsets it.
Similarly, conservative vets support Trump even though he's a draft dodger because Trump talks tough, is a racist, gun lover, warmonger, etc. That's how I think most conservative vets will look at this -- "I don't like posers, but I can let that pass since Colonel Bundy is a gun loving, racist, white winger." It's really that simple. But to make it even simpler, I can hear some conservative vets saying, "You need to stop this posing and apologize right now, but I support your racism, terrorism . . . . . . "
Sorry, but as soon as you find some conservative vets who criticize this guys actions, beyond his faking, I'll reconsider.
GGJohn
(9,951 posts)you don't, we've had conversations about this issue before and we all agree that these posers need to be confronted and shamed.
As far as conservative vets supporting Chump, Chump isn't claiming to be a vet, or a combat vet, so that's a whole different issue.

(6,409 posts)It's easy to believe right wing veterans would give a free pass to this guy because he's a right winger. In fact, they will jump in his shit about six different ways. This is particularly true of people who were in the Marine Corps. Most Marines didn't see combat, which is true of most veterans, but they really, really, REALLY hate people who falsely claim to be Marine veterans. The stolen valor thing is a far greater offense, in their eyes, than being a liberal, watching a Jane Fonda movie, etc.
