""Motherf**ker" is his favorite word...he says it under his breath as a form of daily affirmation."

Samuel L. Jackson has discussed the word that helped him overcome a debilitating stutter in the past. This week, he revealed a little more about the unconventional method.

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” Jackson explained how the word "motherf**ker" -- a familiar one for anyone who's seen his movies -- helps speech process.

"I have no idea [how] but it just does," he said. "It clicks a switch that stops the d-d-d b-b-b, because me I stuttered really, really, really badly for a long time."

Though Jackson didn't specifically address what it is about the word that prevents him from stuttering, he said in a 2013 interview with New York Magazine that "motherf**ker" is his "favorite word," adding that he says it under his breath as a form of daily affirmation.

take on "motherfucker" as my daily word of affirmation, too. And I don't stutter.

who does the 'whats in your wallet' commercial and now I know. I hate to say it but I've not watched a half dozen movies in the last 30 years. I will have to check out some of his movies though. He is quiet the accomplished person.

White Sands.

Willem Dafoe, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson.

Extremely atmospheric (filmed in New Mexico), great soundtrack which just adds to the atmosphere, good, fully-developed characters, and Jackson plays a real S.O.B. (a crooked federal agent).

He made the movie before he was a "name," before his first flash of notoriety following "Pulp Fiction."

Black Snake Moan as well.

Of course, I'll always love Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Die Hard With A Vengeance.

That many takes would be ruined after he had to yell that word because he would totally bliss out and a look of total peace that one can only get from being one with the universe would come over his face.
