The mother of a 4-year-old girl whose body was found Tuesday night attempted in September to get her child back from the woman arrested in her death, according to a police report.
Police have booked 22-year-old Chelsey Cook on suspicion of criminal homicide in the death of Alicia Morrow.
Alicia died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police, who were alerted to a body at 3025 Franklin St. around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. The child’s death was the first homicide in Omaha in 2016.
Police have referred to Cook as Alicia’s guardian.
