I think many people have no intention of voting for the racist asshole, but it's like going to one of the small town stock car races; it's a great show, and there will probably be some great wrecks.
Case in point, news just reported that first guy in line in Burlington tonight is a Sanders supporter, and he got there early because he wanted to be sure he got in. No matter what, this is going to be a shit-show tonight. Burlington is not trump country, and the city is going to be overrun tonight.
Of course, i could be wrong.

(59,501 posts)His web site has issued 20,000 tickets for a theatre which holds about 1,400. The mayor and police are not happy -- and they have defended both his right to free speech and have condemned that irresponsibility, pointing out the police will NOT let more people in than the building should have and are not happy with the situation likely to happen.
City Hall and City Hall Park are immediately across the street. I suspect far more Burlingtonians will be there and at a various local places in protest against the hate that Trump represents. In my neighborhood, and in all the places I have been this week, I have yet to meet anyone happy that he is coming. Most see it as almost a setup -- he sets the conditions for chaos, then he'll blame Burlington and indirectly Sanders.
Note the population of Burlington itself is around 42,000. (I guess if we had Trump values, we would be speaking of a wall.) What I wonder is where will they park? There really is not parking for 20000 extra people!
