About those water filters being distributed in Flint (band-aid alert)

It's great to see that water filters are being distributed to help during Gov. Snyders man-made Flint water-pocalypse, but let's not be lulled into a false sense of security.

The Detroit Free Press article on the subject heralded "... 5,500 filters have already been distributed."

Looking at the empty boxes, it appears as though they are handing out Brita water pitchers (or similar).

Here's a study about lead removal by such filters-
http://www.naturalnews.com/046536_water_filters_heavy_metals_lab_results.html

Lead removal
Lead is a toxic heavy metal that causes brain damage and organ damage in the human body. Natural News has found significant quantities of lead in Organic Rice Protein superfoods imported from China.

Lead removal ranged from a low of 14.1% (Brita) to a high of 93.7% (Waterman Mini).

Average lead removal was 52.5%.

It's time for a sweeping federal response, beginning with FEMA and ending with the prosecution of Snyder, et al.

protesting as if some person of color was shot. If I was anywhere near Flint I would buy a pickup load of bottled water and deliver it.
The Governor doesn't even have the balls to go there in person to address the situation, shame on you Snyder. No National Guard. I have yet to hear a world from the Obama admin. on this issue (It doesn't mean they haven't, I just haven't heard). General Motors won't use the water in their manufacturing and yet have they sent in truck loads of bottled water to help, no. The richest country in the world and this shit happens. How about some of the Wall St. bankers that we bailed out buy some water and deliver it.
The more corrupt this country gets and the richer the rich get the less backbone the American people seem to have.

How much more are we going to take before we get up from behind the keyboards and take this country back. The days of voting for change are over. HRC won't do anything about it and Bernie will never be allowed to get to the Whitehouse by the PTB, they have too much to lose (money).

I have no hope. I see no future.

The GOP owns all but a few distantly spaced cities.

There's not much left of Michigan for energy and resources.

BUT it is beautiful, fertile, abundant, a great place to live out climate changes. The 1% are securing as much of it as possible for "retirement" aka refuge.

those folks not to have had water at the very beginning. I live in Denver and I laid in bed last night thinking about loading up and driving there. I just call in sick for a few days.

I repeat my self. I have no hope. I see no future.

P.S. Tell your mom I said hi.

do what others tell them, that any coloring outside the lines will get you punished.

Soon, all they want is their cable, their lazyboys, or whatever drug keeps them mollified.

Did you know the government just issued guidelines that tell us we should eat more vegetables and less sugar?

Today they are taking money out of the check you earn to give a subsidy to sugar manufacturers that they will not earn - abt $50 bill in direct benefits, over a hundred billion in total.

We spend about $70 billion on food stamps, and still leave hungry families wanting while we are making the big bank$ter/donors to the parties wealthier.

Doesn't really make a difference what side they are on - sitting around making signs that spell MORAN", or laughing at people who do.

All of them comprise a dull and exceptionally stupid people. Not just in MI.

Those who would have made the decisions and especially those who would have profited by the choices need to be prosecuted.
