(8,646 posts)It's just that it's not easy to get into Canada. And it depends on your goals. There was a nice couple from Iran who had kids in my daughter's dance class. The mom said her husband wanted to go to the US because he thought he could make more money there. She was adamant they come to Canada because she thought her kids would be safer, more accepted and have a better education. They made a deal. They would stay in Canada until the kids were out of school, and then they would move to the US. However, her husband found that because they moved to a fairly small, remote town, he was managing his own pharmacy far sooner than he would have down in a larger city or if they would've been in the US, and making more money than he expected, especially when you factor in health care. He acknowledged Canada was the better deal after all. I think maybe the US just has better PR overseas.
