Photo of Mark Zuckerberg's Baby Getting Vaccinated Ignites Online Squabble

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has dropped himself into the riotous social media debate over childhood vaccines after posting a photo of himself taking his newborn daughter to get immunization shots at the doctor's office.

His Facebook post on Friday shows a photo of Zuckerberg holding his daughter, Max, alongside the caption "Doctor's visit - time for vaccines!" Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, announced the birth of their child on Dec. 1.

By Monday, the image had generated more than 3 million likes and 69,000 comments, with many presuming the post was an implicit endorsement of child vaccinations.

The decision to vaccinate children has become a heated debate in the U.S. over the past several years. Anti-vaccination advocates claim that inoculating children can cause diseases or developmental disorders, like autism.

Apparently Jenny McCarthy isn't the only idiot on this planet...all her fans chimed in....and not a brain cell among them.

There is science and logic based decisions vs a small set of outright anti-vax loons.

Debate is a word that gives them a level of respect the loons don't deserve.

I'd be just fine without all that pseudoscience scrolling down my timeline.

are no different to me than climate change deniers or evolution deniers. They stridently choose to ignore things that are NOT debatable, such as science, math, history and data and try to 'trump' all of those facts with loony bullcrap that makes them feel good and important. Never mind the danger in which they're placing their children and the children of others. They have something really important to say because, damn it, they matter - forget about everyone else.

Screw them. Sadly, our daughter made friends with a little girl in our neighborhood. At a neighborhood get-together, that girl's mother was proudly prancing around after a few drinks lecturing us 'sheep' on getting our kids vaccinated. We were all just swallowing what the corrupt science world was selling, et al - every stupid talking point was included. They were all shunned immediately thereafter. I totally understand why and sadly agree with it, but those a-holes are doing more than just potential physical harm to their child.
